Bedside Table Maintenance Tips

1. Regularly wax your bedside table; only with regular maintenance can it stay looking new.

2. Tea stains will appear on your bedside table over time. To remove them, sprinkle some water on the table, rub with the foil from a cigarette pack, and then wash with water.

3. Hot cups and plates placed directly on lacquered furniture will leave burn marks. These can usually be removed by wiping with a cloth dampened with kerosene, alcohol, cologne, or strong tea. Alternatively, you can gently rub iodine on the burn mark or apply a layer of petroleum jelly; after a couple of days, wipe the mark with a cloth to remove it.

4. Wicker bedside tables will accumulate dirt and discolor over time. Washing with salt water will remove dirt and make the wick soft and supple. Regularly wiping with a damp cloth will keep it clean.

5. White bedside tables are easily stained, and stains are difficult to remove with a cloth. Try squeezing toothpaste onto a clean cloth and gently wiping; the stains will be removed. Don't use too much force to avoid damaging the finish.

6. When a wooden bedside table develops a crack, cut up old newspapers, add an appropriate amount of alum, and cook with water or rice water to form a paste. Use a knife to embed the paste into the crack and smooth it out. Once dry, it will be very strong. Then, paint it with the same color of paint, and the wood will be restored to its original appearance.

7. If the furniture's finish is scratched but the wood hasn't been exposed, use a crayon or paint of the same color as the furniture to cover the exposed base color. Then, apply a thin layer of clear nail polish.

8. If the back panel of the bedside table is warped due to moisture, it should be replaced. Furniture must be leveled on all four legs, otherwise uneven stress will cause deformation. Do not add mirrors to sliding wardrobe doors. Mirrors that are too large or too heavy will cause the wardrobe doors to sag and damage the tracks.
